Phoenix police officer Morgan Bullis is back on patrol in the South Mountain Precinct after recovering from gunshot wounds while on duty in late March.
Bullis returned to duty July 12 and said she was “excited because it is a step in the right direction.”
She was shot responding to a call on March 24. The suspect fired a gun at her patrol vehicle. She was struck in the hip and her face was hit by bullet fragments, officials said.
“It was an injury that I could not control, someone else controlled for me, so coming back was a lot of work, and I am happy to be here."
