Sun Cities 4 Paws Rescue is set to receive a $7,500 grant investment from national nonprofit Petco Love in support of the agency’s life saving work for animals in the Sun Cities area.
The facility, 11129 W. Michigan Ave., Youngtown, is a nonprofit that is a cat only, no-kill rescue, saving the lives of cats and kittens and preparing them for adoption, serving Maricopa County’s West Valley.
Since 1997, Sun Cities 4 Paws Rescue has grown from a small home to two locations and has saved thousands of cats and kittens since its inception, including a thrift store that helps to support the agency’s lifesaving efforts.
“The investment from Petco Love will help us vaccinate hundreds of kittens and Petco Love’s support will help us continue our mission of saving the lives of cats and kittens in Maricopa County,” said Deb Heise, 4 Paws executive director.
Petco Love is a national nonprofit leading change for pets by harnessing the power of love to make communities and pet families closer, stronger and healthier. Since its founding in 1999, Petco Love has invested $330 million in adoption and other lifesaving efforts. Petco Love helps find loving homes for pets in partnership with Petco and more than 4,000 organizations like 4 Paws across North America, with 6.5 million pets adopted and counting.
“Our investment in Sun Cities 4 Paws Rescue is part of more than $15 million in investments recently announced by Petco Love to power local organizations across the country as part of our commitment to create a future in which no pet is unnecessarily euthanized,” said Susanne Kogut, Petco
Love president. “Our local investments are only part of our strategy to empower animal lovers to drive lifesaving change right alongside us.”
“We currently average 800 intakes and adoptions yearly, with more than 500 of those being kittens,” Heise said.
