Peoria police to host Shop with a Cop this Saturday

Any Peoria residents who hear police vehicles with their sirens blaring on Saturday morning should know that it’s for a good cause.

The Peoria Police Officers Association Charities’ annual Shop With A Cop event is back where Peoria Police Department employees take children in the community to a local department store to purchase gifts of all kinds for themselves and their families for the holiday season.

Shop with a Cop gets underway on Saturday, Dec. 9 when kids arrive at the Peoria Community Center, 8335 W. Jefferson. At 8 a.m. officers will caravan the kids in police vehicles, with lights and sirens, into the Target parking lot, at 8055 W. Bell Road, in Peoria.
