Patty H. Meredith, 94, peacefully passed away June 8, 2017 at Desert Winds Assisted Living in Peoria, AZ. Patty was born in Detroit, Michigan to Huntly and Gladys Campbell. She attended University of Wisconsin, took a long break to raise a family, and then completed her studies at Oakland University in Michigan. She was an executive secretary at The First Presbyterian Church in Royal Oak, Michigan and also served as secretary at Strategic Communications. Later in life Patty moved to Sun City and became a realtor for Ken Meade Realty. While in Sun City, she was an active member and a deaconess of First Faith Presbyterian Church. Patty enjoyed theater group, Tai Chi, loved summer months at the cottage in Lake Orion, MI, and was an ardent fan of the Arizona Diamondbacks and Phoenix Suns. Most important to her was receiving any family news regarding her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. The activity in their lives resonated with her greatly. Earlier in her life she also loved traveling with her sister, Peggy. Patty's caring and passion for humanity was demonstrated by her commitment to Banner Sun Health Research Institute. Patty is survived by two daughters, Katie Hillis Damman of Summit, NJ and Sheila Hillis of Longmont, CO; grandchildren, Robb Damman, Chris Damman, and Brynne Olsen; nephew, Michael Murphy; and 7 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, first husband, James Hillis; second husband Ted Meredith; sister, Peggy Murphy; and great granddaughter, Lillian. Memorial service will be in Summit, NJ on August 19, at 10AM. The family offers heartfelt thanks and appreciation to the staff at Desert Winds Assisted Living who made it possible for Patty to love her last home and to Ginny Kidd of Hospice of the West who bonded with Patty and provided comforting words to her family.
