In loving memory of
Jacqueline Mae Davis
October 10, 1937 – August 10, 2026
Jacky Davis, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and dear friend to many, passed away in her home in Cave Creek on August 10, 2026. Born to John and Mildred Kennedy in Des Moines, Iowa, the middle daughter of three, she moved with her family to Sunnyslope, Arizona during elementary school. She met Gary Davis, her future husband, at Sunnyslope High School where they became sweethearts. She was a high school English teacher when she married Gary in 1962. They had three children and made Cave Creek their home.
Jacky was passionate about the community and conserving the desert. She was on the 1986 Cave Creek Incorporation Committee, and then served as the first elected Mayor from 1987-1991, dedicating her time, vision, and heart to Cave Creek. She then became active in the Desert Foothills Land Trust paving the way for the conservation of Spur Cross and the Jewel of the Creek. Jacky was a 20-year volunteer at the Desert Botanical Garden.
Jacky’s legacy is one of service, perseverance, and love for the desert. She loved being outdoors, reading, hiking, gardening, and walking her dog. Her warmth, generosity, and steadfast presence will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her. She is lovingly survived by her husband, Gary, her three children (Jeremy, Anna and husband Vince, and Megan) and three granddaughters (Allison, Olivia, and Annika).
To honor Jacky, memorials may be made to the Desert Foothills Land Trust at dflt.org.
