Now a trio, Rockin’ The Blues returns to Surprise, Sun City

Local favorites Rockin’ The Blues are now a trio, and they have four gigs remaining this month in the area, with one coming soon in Surprise and two more following in Sun City.
The current lineup features Sun City residents Guy Dobbins (drums) and Larry Kubiayk (bass), and Anthem resident Scott Severtson (guitar).
Here’s what’s coming up in July for Rockin’ The Blues:
• From 6 to 9 p.m. July 10 at the Eagles Aeire, 12425 W. Bell Road, Suite 100. Surprise. For information, call 623-584-1660. There is a $3 charge for non-members.
• From 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, July 16 at the Arizona Traditions age-restricted community in Surprise. This show is for Arizona Traditions residents only.
• From 7 to 11 p.m. Saturday, July 17 at Speakeasy, 10745 Grand Ave., Suite No. 7 Sun City. For information, call 623-977-0662.
• From 5:30 to 7:30 Friday, July 30 at Sun City Country Club, 9433 N, 107th Ave. Sun City. For information, call 623-933-1353 opt. 2.
The former four-person blues combo took flight in 2013. The members shortly after each found one another and began blending blues with rock and roll for their original sound.
