No foul play suspected in Scottsdale fire death: PD

Scottsdale police said an autopsy performed on a man who died Monday in a garage fire showed no injuries other than the burns he suffered.

“We do not suspect foul play as part of this death investigation and are not looking for any suspects,” police said in a release following the results of  Tuesday's autopsy.

The cause of death is still being investigated by the Maricopa County Medical Examiner’s Office, and toxicology and carbon monoxide tests are being ordered, according to the release.

The office will review police and fire department reports as part of the process, which could take months.

The man who died at the home near 135th Way and Sorrel Lane has not been identified positively by the medical examiner. That might not occur until next week, police said.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
