Nicholas J. Arens, passed away on Saturday, December 30th at home in Sun City with family. Nick was born in White Lake, SD and graduated from the Academy of the Immaculate Heart of Mary High School in Coeur d'Alene, ID in 1953.He was an iron worker by trade and owned his own steel erectors company for many years, working on projects all over the western United States. Nick served in the US Army and was a lifetime member of the Elks club, he also served as a past President of the Washington State Snowmobilers Association and was a current member of the Arrowhead Harley Owners Group, as he loved to ride his Harley trike.Nick is survived by his sister, Susan (Greg) Dornbusch; children and step-children: Carolyn (Bill) Fisher, Butch Arens, Brent Arens, Lora (Tom) Bowman, Sherry Arens, Janet (Ernie) Chambers, Tony Smith, Steve Spady, Bill LaBrie, Robin (John) Houston; grandchildren: Renada Thompson, Matt Fisher, Heather Gearhart, Connor Arens, Brianne Allen, Joseph Woolman, Jackie Rodriquez, Katie Chambers, Reggie Maxwell, Misty Yost, Raymond Smith, Tristan Smith, Jared Allen, Erika Michaels, Dillon, Amber and Dalton LaBrie; niece, Molly (Wendell) Steeneck; nephews, John (Heidi) Dornbusch, Joshua (Amy) Dornbusch; nine great-grandchildren, numerous cousins and his riding companion, Skippy.He was predeceased by sisters, Delores Arens, Mary Arens; brother, David Arens; son, Randy Arens; grandsons, Matthew Arens, Jack Arens, Andy Arens, Josh Fisher; nephew, David Dornbusch; wives, Luella Ost, Judy Arens, Mary Arens, Joyce Matthews and his parents, Doris Wulf-Arens and John Alfred Arens. A private celebration of life will be held on Saturday, January 20th, memorial donations in lieu of flowers to the VA Hospice and Veterans Home of Phoenix.
