An excessive heat warning has been declared for Maricopa and Pinal counties through Tuesday, Oct. 1, as autumn temperatures could reach 115 degrees.
The warning issued by the National Weather Service extends by two days a heat warning issued through Sunday and increases the possibility of potentially deadly temperatures from 111 degrees to 115 degrees.
Temperatures that high, according to NWS officials, poses the threat of life-threatening illnesses.
Those living in the Valley are advised to find areas with air conditioning, stay indoors and drink water, according to an NWS release.
