Chandler has been awarded for the 41st time for its work in communicating city finances to the public.
The Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada has recognized the city again with a certificate of excellence, according to a release, which also stated the certificate is “the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting.”
The award is for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2022.
The report was judged by a panel that determines if cities meet the association’s standards, including demonstrating a constructive “spirit of full disclosure” to communicate the city’s financial story and motivate people to read the report.
