A 42-year-old motorcyclist was shot and killed Saturday in Mesa, and a search is on for the slaying suspect, police said.

Arron Hendricks was shot at Sossaman and Main about 5:15 p.m. Saturday, April 15.

Police found him on the road next to his motorcycle. He was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead, authorities said.

Witnesses told officers the shooting suspect was in a red passenger car that was last seen fleeing eastbound on Main Street, according to a  Mesa Police Department release.

"Homicide detectives are diligently working this case, looking for surveillance videos in the area and hoping to talk with anyone who may have information to help capture the suspect," the release stated.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Mesa Police Department at 480-644-2211 or Silent Witness at 480-WITNESS.
