Mixed-use, transit-oriented Phoenix project progresses

Posted

Central Station redevelopment, the mixed-use, transit-oriented development project, recently conducted a topping-out ceremony for the east tower in Phoenix.

Phoenix officials stated in a release the event marked “a significant milestone in the construction progress of Central Station.”

Located in the heart of downtown, next to the historic Security Building, Civic Space Park and ASU's Downtown Campus, Central Station will consist of two residential towers that will offer student and workforce housing, two levels of below-grade parking, a city public transit hub and retail/office spaces, according to a release.

Slated to open in early 2025, Central Station “will transform how users experience the city's primary downtown bus and light rail transit center, which serves 2 million passengers annually,” the release stated.

Central Station is a public-private partnership with the city retaining ownership of the land and the development partners entering into a long-term ground lease for the project.
