Mark Leonard Schnabel, age 52, of Apache Junction, AZ passed away on 6/18/2023 from a fatal traffic accident.
Mark is survived by his Daughter Sydney Schnabel (Mesa, AZ), mother, Anne (Dye) Yates (Newell, SD), and brother Terry Schnabel (Placerville, CA).
He is predeceased by his older brother Wade Schnabel, father Gerald Schnabel, and Grandparents.
Mark was born in Gillette Wyoming on November 5th, 1970 to Gerald Schnabel and Anne (Dye) Schnabel. He spent his early years in the Black Hills, where he enjoyed hunting and fishing, and then learned a passion for God and horses, mentored closely by his Uncles.
He moved to California at 16, then soon returned to the Black Hills on his own to finish High School, staying with friends and family; where he graduated from Spearfish High School.
He then settled in Arizona close to his mother, and remained there mostly, other than his exploits in Communication Contracting for several years, which took him all over the western United States, including Alaska.
He married and had a daughter.
He continued as a devoted father, attending various churches, and always followed his convictions to follow God, that had been instilled in him, largely by his Uncle Chip.
He joined the Cox family where he has spent the last 17 years as a communications technician.
He joined the Apache Junction Mounted Rangers, and had a deep commitment to them and his community at large, always helping anyone in need.
He lived a full life, living each day close to his Creator, though taken too soon.
A funeral service was held June 24th, at 11:00 AM at the Superstition Funeral Home in Apache Junction (398 East Old West Highway).
Additional services will be held in Alzada, Montana on July 8th 2023 at 2:00pm, at the Alzada Community Hall. Inurnment to follow where he will rest next to his older brother.
