Eduardo Cruz has been sentenced to five years in prison followed by three years on probation supervision for dealing fentanyl pills and methamphetamine in the Phoenix area, authorities said.

In February and March, Cruz sold methamphetamine and fentanyl pills in the Phoenix area, according to a release from the Arizona Attorney General’s Office.

On Feb. 14, he sold about 10,000 fentanyl pills, weighing 2.4 pounds. A few weeks later, he had 7.05 pounds of methamphetamine for sale, the release stated.

Investigators with the Arizona Department of Public Safety arrested Cruz, and he was charged and pleaded guilty to conspiracy to sell a narcotic drug, attempt to possess dangerous drug for sale and illegally conducting an enterprise.

Cruz was ordered last month serve five years prison concurrent time for attempt to possess a dangerous drug for sale and illegally conducting an enterprise followed by a three years probation for conspiracy to sell a narcotic drug, according to the release.

He was ordered to pay $4,500 to the State Anti-Racketeering Revolving Fund, $10,000 in investigation costs to the Department of Public Safety and to forfeit the guns involved in the case.
