A 42-year-old man is dead after a Friday night shooting near 19th Avenue and Deer Valley Road in Phoenix.

Phoenix police responded about 11:15 p.m. Oct. 7 to a shooting call outside a business in the area and found David Phillips, 42, had been shot. He was rushed to a hospital but later died.

Officers received information that three individuals called and reported they were involved in the shooting.

They were detained and cooperated by speaking with investigators, police said, adding they were released pending the conclusion of the investigation.

The investigation remains active and, once completed, the case will be reviewed by the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office for any charges, police said.
