A 32-year-old man has been booked on one count of second-degree murder and tampering with evidence in connection with the stabbing death on Sunday of another man, Phoenix police said.
Detectives arrested Tony Hill on Dec. 11 after they obtained evidence and witness testimony that identified him as the suspect in the death of Amador Vasquez, 44, according to authorities.
“Hill was later interviewed and provided a self-defense claim; however, it was inconsistent with the evidence collected by investigators,” and he was booked on the two counts, police said in a release.
Vasquez was found about 7:30 p.m. Dec. 10 near 2300 North 32nd Street with at least one stab wound. He was pronounced dead at a hospital.
