A 26-year-old man faces charges after authorities said he assaulted two Scottsdale police officers who were responding to a domestic disturbance at his family’s home.

Sevastian Garcia was arrested Aug. 23 following the 8:30 p.m. call near 7400 E. Thomas Road.

Police said officers were trying to place Garcia under arrest.

During the fight, one officer received a head injury, and the other officer suffered a dislocated shoulder, police said. Both were taken to a hospital.

Garcia was also transported to a hospital for precautionary reasons but was cleared by medical staff, police said. No other family members were injured during the disturbance at the home.

After Garcia was released from the hospital, he was booked into the Maricopa County Jail for two counts of aggravated assault on police officers, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct.
