The Arizona Department of Transportation has one more public meeting for comments before updating its long-range plan.
The meeting will be in the form of a telephone town hall and take place at 6 p.m. Wednesday, March 22. For details: https://adot2050plan.com/get-involved/.
Updated every five years, the LRTP “is not about specific projects,” ADOT officials said in a release, but a policy document that establishes “broad goals, objectives and strategies and serves as a guide for future transportation decisions.”
“You are key stakeholders in our public involvement process,” ADOT Director Jennifer Toth said. “We want to hear your input on what you envision our transportation system should look like and how it can serve the needs of our growing state.”
Transportation officials said it will take five months to review all comments received from virtual and in-person public meetings along with information about anticipated future funding sources and system needs to develop LRTP recommendations.
A draft version of the plan will be available for public review and additional comments before it is presented to the State Transportation Board for approval in June, according to ADOT.
