Kenyan to describe changing lives

Sun City Community Assistance Network will offer a special guest speaker to share information about changing lives.
The lecture is scheduled 10 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 18 in the auditorium at the Sun City Posse headquarters, 10861 W. Sunland Drive. The guest speaker will be Dr. Vincent Kituku, who will talk about his work transforming lives in his native Kenya. His ability to inform, empower and inspire people to reach new heights of personal and professional growth have placed him among the nation’s leading motivational speakers.
Dr. Kituku has been in the United States since 1986. His undergraduate degree is from the University of Nairobi and his masters and doctorate degrees are from the University of Wyoming. He is a motivational speaker and author. Nationally, he is one of less than 1,000 speakers to earn the coveted Certified Speaking Professional recognition, the highest recognition given by the National Speakers Association.
Dr. Kituku lives in Boise, Idaho. He has worked extensively with both government and private organizations and individuals across the country that want to improve their productivity and stay focused. He has been the motivational consultant for the Boise State University football team since 1998. He played a similar role for the Arizona State University Sun Devils football team 2002-05. Using his exuberant, concise and riveting style, Dr. Vincent created CDs, books and articles of substance.
In 2010, Dr. Kituku established Caring Hearts and Hands of Hope, a charity that helps orphans, children of widows, and those from poverty-stricken families obtain a high school education in Kenya. It has also helped build houses for widows, donated mattresses, blankets and bed sheets for blind children and food relief for several communities and schools. Currently, CHHH is sponsoring 240 students in high schools and 60 students in universities and colleges.
More recently, Dr. Kituku raised $1.3 million to purchase Caring Hearts High School, a boarding facility and haven for vulnerable and orphaned girls. The girls are provided a quality education, youth development programs, and hope for a better future.
In 2013, Dr. Kituku was the recipient of Molina Healthcare’s Community Champions Award that honors heroes who work in our communities and inspire others through their selflessness, extraordinary service and contributions that positively affect the lives of those around them. He was the 2016 recipient of the annual Faith, Family and Freedom Award, a recognition in Idaho of lifetime commitment to God and country.
