Keep Tempe Beautiful is looking for volunteers to help Saturday in a project along Town Lake.

The work will be conducted in hourlong shifts, beginning at 8 a.m. Saturday, April 22. Volunteers can participate in one or all of the time slots.

Trash and litter will be collected on the north shore in the area next to the Mill Avenue Bridge, event organizers said. Volunteers can enter through East Curry Road/Washington Street.

Bring water, sunscreen, hat and gloves. There is no minimum age to participate, and staff will be available to sign any documents for community service requirements.

Last Saturday, 117 KTB volunteers were at Papago Park where they removed a total of 241 pounds of trash, 18 pounds of recycling and 3.5 pounds of cigarette butts, according to organizers.
