Isaiah Miranda scores 29 as Grambling beats Northern Illinois 89-87
ROCK HILL, S.C. (AP) — Isaiah Miranda’s 29 points helped Grambling defeat Northern Illinois 89-87 on Monday.
Miranda also contributed eight rebounds and three blocks for the Tigers (1-0). Dwayne Pierce added 19 points while shooting 8 for 15 (1 for 3 from 3-point range) and 2 of 5 from the free-throw line while they also had eight assists. Isaiah Howard shot 4 of 8 from the field and 5 for 5 from the line to finish with 13 points.
Trevor Polite led the Huskies (0-1) in scoring, finishing with 15 points. Nino Carter-Smith added 13 points for Northern Illinois. David Douglas Jr. finished with 12 points.
