Initial results: Friedel leads mayoral race in Fountain Hills, tight council contest

Initial results for the Fountain Hills Town Council election show incumbent mayor Gerry Friedel with an early lead and a tight race between all six town council candidates.

Polls closed for Arizona’s primary election at 7 p.m. July 21. The Maricopa County Recorder’s Office released the initial results shortly after 8 p.m.

In Fountain Hills, voters are deciding who will fill three seats on the town council for the next four years. None of the council candidates running are incumbents.
