Most people understand that the cost of goods and services has increased since the pandemic and inflation.
It is, however, not easy for the average family to afford Gilbert’s 50% increase in water cost. It is budget busting over the course of a year for hard working families whose average wages have not kept pace with inflation. Trash pick up and recycling will increase $8.52 per month as well.
Combined, the water and trash cost increases amount to $306.24 more a year plus what we were paying.
Would have been nice to spread the cost over five years — not just dump it on residents without warning.
