Goodyear welcomes new city council members

Three Goodyear City Council seats were up for vote in the Aug. 30 primary election. The three seats were filled by three of the six running candidates. With Tery Terry, Laura Kaino and Benita Beckles being contest leaders.

According to the Maricopa County Elections Department, Terry led polls with 21.36% of the vote, followed by Kaino with 20.45% and Allen with 17.20%

The three new council members ran against Teri Roberts, Tamara Floyd and Angie Amarillas.

The new council members are elected for four-year terms. They will be responsible for passing citywide ordinances, addressing community concerns and overseeing projects. Council members guide local policy and the operations of municipal services.
