Gloria (Beffa) Marsh, 84, formerly of Sun City West, AZ, and Pasadena, CA, passed away on September 22, 2018, in Arvada, CO. She was born June 6, 1934, in New York City.Gloria worked as a registered nurse until she and her husband, James William Marsh, retired to Sun City West in 1995. Gloria and Jim were married for 58 years. Gloria attended New York's Metropolitan Hospital School of Nursing where she was awarded $25 for the highest scholastic standing in the 1957 graduating class. She took great pride in her nursing career and continued to share her knowledge and skills after retirement in volunteer capacities. Throughout her life, Gloria was active in the Catholic church. She met Jim at a church event and attended St Felicitas & Perpetua Church in San Marino and Our Lady of Lourdes in Sun City West. She and Jim traveled the world together, visiting countries throughout Europe, Asia, and Africa, including visits to New Zealand, Singapore, Egypt, and Russia. She regularly visited one of her favorite places, Yosemite National Park. As her children grew up, the family spent many Christmases in the Yosemite Valley. Donations are being made to the Yosemite Conservancy in Gloria's name. After retirement, Gloria remained active by joining in many new friendships and activities, including volunteering as a docent at the Sun Cities Art Museum, taking on acting roles with the Sun City West Theatre West and the Mayflower Players, and tutoring children in the Dysart Unified School District.Gloria is survived by her husband and her children, Craig, his wife SuChin, and Gloria's beloved granddaughter Kirsten Marsh of Christchurch, New Zealand; Suzanne and her husband Terry Mulvaney of Pasadena, CA; and Neal and his wife Victoria of Thornton, CO. Gloria is also survived by several nieces on her sister's side: Mary, Terese, Jeanne, Monica, and Gloria; and Sharon, Cynthia, Pam, Deborah, Lisa, and Janice on Jim's side. She was preceded in death by her sister Irene. Gloria was well loved by her family and life-long friends, with many friendships enduring for more than 50 years, including those with whom she moved from New York to California, and Pasadena friends who raised their families together.
