Glendale will consider 133 acres of new industrial in Loop 303 Corridor

Future commerce center project estimated to support 1,400+ jobs

The Loop 303 Corridor on Glendale’s west end, one of the fastest-growing industrial corridors in the nation, could be expanding yet again.

The Glendale City Council at its June 28 workshop will consider a request to annex a 133-acre site that is currently Maricopa County land, and looks to be the future home of the Northern Parkway Commerce Center. The site occupies the southwest corner of Northern Parkway and Dysart Road, between the Loop 101 and Loop 303.

Phoenix-based economic consulting firm Applied Economics in a May report to the city estimates the total construction cost for the future Northern Parkway Commerce Center to be $322.8 million for 2.36 million square feet of light industrial space. The study further estimates that the development could support about 1,455 jobs at an average wage of $49,000.
