East Valley city council OKs plan for long-vacant corner

When a hearing was held in September on a complicated commercial redevelopment proposal, one Chandler Planning and Zoning commissioner asked what happened to including housing in a mixed-use plan.

When that same proposal was approved unanimously the week of Oct. 15, housing was only mentioned in passing.
Council voted 7-0 to approve a plan for Desert Palms at its Oct. 15 regular meeting. That’s the name of a redeveloped part of the Sun Village Fair shopping center at Alma School and Warner roads.
