Glendale teen killed in Grand Avenue car crash
Three other juveniles suffer life-threatening injuries
Posted
To save lives on roadways, the Glendale Police Department, in partnership with the Arizona Governor’s Office of Highway Safety, is currently running a “Click It or Ticket” campaign. This campaign enforces a “zero-tolerance” approach toward seat belt and child safety seat use. Law enforcement agencies across the state are stepping up traffic enforcement patrols and increasing other enforcement efforts to drive home the message: “Buckle Up, Arizona. It’s the Law.”

A 15-year-old is dead following a single vehicle collision in Glendale.
The Glendale Police Department reports that just after 7 p.m. Thursday, officers responded to a single vehicle collision at the 5300 block of Grand Avenue. The vehicle involved was a blue Infiniti G35, which had four occupants.
The driver of the vehicle, a 17-year-old male, along with two 16-year-old female passengers, were transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries. The fourth occupant, a 15-year-old male, was pronounced deceased on scene.
Detectives determined the Infiniti, driven by an unlicensed juvenile, was allegedly travelling northwest on Grand Avenue at a speed greater than the posted speed limit. An unknown vehicle made a left turn from southwest Grand onto 53rd Avenue. Police say the Infiniti attempted to avoid the left turning vehicle and spun out of control, striking the curb.
The vehicle rolled and three of the unrestrained occupants were ejected. Officers evaluated the driver for impairment and no signs or symptoms were found.
The names of the juveniles are not being released at this time, but all were determined to be Glendale residents.
