Independent Newsmedia
Police are investigating after two people were killed in a collision in Glendale.
Around 7:30 p.m. Sunday, Glendale police responded to a collision near 51st Avenue and Thunderbird Road.
Police said responding officers located Robert Martin Strickbine, 61, and his daughter Kalley Strickbine, 13, in the roadway. Both were pronounced dead at the scene.
Witnesses on scene reported Mr. Strickbine was riding a bicycle with his daughter riding on the handlebars. They were crossing southbound at 52nd Avenue on Thunderbird Road when a vehicle collided with them.
Police said the woman who was driving the vehicle was taken to a hospital for medical-related reasons. She was cooperative with officers.
Police said Mr. Strickbine was picking up his daughter from a friend’s home.
Police said speed, impairment and medical issues are being looked at as possible causes for the collision, which remains under investigation.
