Glendale house fire a reminder to throw out Christmas trees

Three people were displaced following a house fire Thursday near 43rd and Peoria avenues.
Glendale Fire said the occupants believed their Christmas tree caught fire, prompting the agency to remind people that a dry tree can be very dangerous and to not turn on the lights if the tree is dry. Residents are encouraged to dispose of their trees if they are dried out.

Tree disposal
The Solid Waste Department has established drop-off sites for residents to bring trees for recycling from December 26 to January 8, 2020. Please remove all stands, ornaments, tinsel and decorations before dropping off your tree.

Glendale Heroes Park, 83rd Avenue and Bethany Home Road
Foothills Park, 57th Avenue and Union Hills Drive
