The Arizona Department of Transportation has cleared the way for Super Bowl and WM Phoenix open traffic by eliminating any road projects over the weekend.
“Drivers should focus on safe driving behaviors, including buckling up, staying alert when behind the wheel, avoiding excessive speeding and never driving while impaired,” state transportation officials said in a release.
ADOT plans and constructs new freeways, additional lanes and other improvements in the Phoenix area as part of the Regional Transportation Plan for the Maricopa County region.
Projects are funded in part by Proposition 400, a dedicated sales tax approved by Maricopa County voters in 2004.
