Free coffee for a year for the first 100 guests as Dunkin’ opens in Mesa

Dunkin’ is celebrating its arrival in Mesa’s Heritage Park neighborhood with free coffee for a year for some lucky fans.

The new location at 350 E. Southern is celebrating its grand opening with free coffee for a year — four free medium hot/iced coffees/per month  — for the first 100 customers in line starting at 6:30 a.m. on Tuesday, May 30, according to a release.

Mesa Mayor John Giles will assist with the ribbon cutting at 8:30 a.m., before stepping behind the counter to welcome Dunkin’ guests.

Members of the Desert Sound Mariachi Band will provide entertainment. Desert Sound is a Mesa-based nonprofit committed to changing the lives of Arizona children through the gift of music. In the spirit of giving back to the communities it serves, Dunkin’ is donating a check for $1,500 to Desert Sound.

Grand opening guests will also have the opportunity to grab some Dunkin’ swag. A donut and medium coffee is also waiting for Mesa police officers and firefighters who stop by that day, the release states.

“Dunkin’ is pleased to become part of this tight-knit community,” Griselda Alvarez of Quality Brands, a large Arizona franchisee, said in the release. “Our East Valley fans are among the most loyal, and we can’t wait to greet our new neighbors when they come in to enjoy their Dunkin’ favorites.”

The store has a drive-thru, a modern NextGen design and in-store innovations. These include a beverage bar tap system for nitro and cold-brewed coffee. Guests can also use in-store charging stations and free wi-fi. The restaurant serves signature coffees, teas, Coolattas, Dunkin’ Refreshers and other beverages, and of course, you will find donuts, bagels, muffins, munchkins and sandwiches. Dunkin’s newest menu items, including their full summer line-up of refreshers and iced coffee drinks, are also served here.

The new Mesa location employs approximately 30 crew members, who join a team of more than 5,000 Arizonans employed at Dunkin’ locations across the state. Each year franchisees and guests generously donate through Dunkin’s Joy in Childhood Foundation to local food banks, children’s hospitals and more. The foundation has provided donations of $455,000 in AZ during the past two years alone.

Arizona franchisees average an additional $20,000 each year in donations to local schools, children’s sports teams, nurses and other community organizations.

Founded in 1950, Dunkin’ has more than 12,200 restaurants in 45 countries worldwide. For information, go to DunkinDonuts.com.
