Two people were taken to the hospital and several others were evaluated after a nitrogen tank leaked at a Sun City West surgery center on Thursday.
The Arizona Fire & Medical Authority fire and hazmat crews responded to a surgery center, according to the authority.
Employees and patients complained of symptoms such as dizziness and nausea. Employees reported a leak in a nitrogen tank and began evacuating the building, fire officials said.
Firefighters identified a small leak in a 50-liter tank and secured it without incident. Seven people were evaluated and two were transported to the hospital, fire officials said.
Hazmat teams metered to ensure there were no hazardous gasses inside. Once they reported it was safe everyone was allowed back into the building. The surgery center reopened and normal operation were underway.
