Maricopa County Department of Transportation crews have begun work on the Deer Valley Road bridge between 109th and 117th avenues in Peoria.
The bridge deck maintenance project will run through late June and take place during the week for the most part, county officials said. There may be occasional weekend work but no work on holidays.
The project will require temporary lane restrictions to allow crews to apply a protective epoxy sealant on the bridge deck surface, according to MCDOT.
One lane of traffic with a flagging operation will be in place during construction, with alternating travel at reduced speeds. Travel will be allowed across the bridge at all times, officials said.
