East Valley man pleads guilty in federal gun sales case

The U.S. Attorney's Office in Phoenix announced this week that a Chandler man charged in an illegal gun sales case has pleaded guilty.

Alejandro Montemayor, 33, of Chandler, pleaded guilty earlier this month in U.S. District Court to federal charges of aiding and abetting a false statement during the purchase of a firearm and failure to file a report related to currency.

Sentencing is scheduled for Aug. 17 before U.S. District Judge Susan M. Brnovich.
