Drozd: Intent to attack should be secretive

Posted

First the White House allowed an unidentified balloon to drift across our country before shooting it down.

Now it violated the basic principle of surprise when delivering a blow to the enemy. By the White House broadcasting its intent to attack Iran backed militants, it gave the enemy ample time to relocate leadership and targets of interest. As one who served at the Pentagon during 9-11, we never gave the enemy advanced warning of when, where, or how we would attack.

By doing so, we knew it would also place our pilots at risk and prompt the enemy to strike again. Most importantly, our leadership in Washington must answer the question as to why these militants were allowed to imbed themselves in Iraq, a country that we supposedly liberated?

Eradicating them was long overdue. If our leadership does not become more proactive instead of reactive, terrorists will have the freedom to continue their deadly assaults on us and other countries of the free world.
