Digital Cities Award goes to Chandler

Posted

Chandler has been recognized as one of the top 10 Digital Cities Survey award recipients by the Center for Digital Government.

The annual survey recognizes cities using technology to tackle social challenges, enhance services, strengthen cybersecurity and more, according to a release.

Chandler placed sixth nationally in the category for cities with a population of 250,000-499,999. Chandler’s population was estimated at 287,024 as of Nov. 1, 2023.

“Chandler has a long-held commitment to innovation and technology, and looks for opportunities for smart, sustainable solutions and innovative ideas that promote efficiency, productivity and connectivity,” city officials said in the release.

Some of the highlights of Chandler’s top ranking include the information technology department’s planning “to ensure that initiatives align with the overall city strategic framework,” the release stated.

“The Digital Cities survey winners continue to push the envelope of how government agencies deliver modern services during a period of rapid technological change,” said Todd Sander, vice president of the Center for Digital Government and Governing Institute.
