Carolyn Filer, a member of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution, Agua Fria Chapter, presented a commemorative surviving spouse lapel pin and pin packet to Cindi Mink.
Her husband, CMSGT Preston Amos Mink, Jr., was a Vietnam War veteran who served in the United States Marine Corps from 1953 to 1956, served in U.S. Army from 1956 to 1959 and finally served in U.S. Air Force from 1959 to 1984. During his military career he earned the Meritorious Service Medal, Air Force Commendation Medal, Distinguished Presidential Unit Citation, Air Force Outstanding Unit Award, Air Force Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Humanitarian Service Award Ribbon, Air Force Longevity Service Award Ribbon, Non Commissioned Officers Professional Military Education Graduation Ribbon, Small Arms Expert Marksmanship Ribbon, Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross and Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal.
Mink is buried at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona in Phoenix.
