Phoenix is considering updates for its code enforcement policy and is looking for residents’ assistance at upcoming outreach meetings.

The Neighborhood Services Department is conducting the meetings at which officials will provide an overview of the policy, outline possible updates for the city council to consider and ask for community opinions.

Code enforcement covers items such as weeds, debris and zoning violations on private property, according to a city release.

A virtual meeting is schedule for 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 5, and an in-person session is set for 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 11, at Phoenix City Hall, 200 W. Washington St.

The Code Enforcement Policy was adopted by the council and grants NSD the authority to enforce the Neighborhood Preservation Ordinance and portions of the zoning, animal and business ordinances.
