City installs flotation rings at Tempe Town Lake, Kiwanis Park

Tempe began installing flotation rings last week at 37 locations around Tempe Town Lake.

The installation began days after a lawsuit was filed against Tempe by the family of a man who drowned in the lake last year.

The city also has equipped police officers with “throw bags” to assist in water rescues.

The city announced that nine flotation rings will be installed around Tempe Town Lake.
