Chandler's Digital Media Division recently received awards in two video competitions.
The division was honored with four awards each at the 44th Annual Telly Awards and the National Association of Telecommunications Officers and Advisors 38th Annual Government Programming Awards.
The winning entries:
“Ostrich World,” a video created for the 2023 State of the City event, won a Silver Telly and a NATOA Award of Excellence, both in the Visual Effects category. Courtney Randolph and Julie Carpenter, digital media principal producers, worked on this the project.
“Home Rule,” created by Randolph, won a Silver Telly in the Government Relations category and an Award of Distinction in the NATOA Election Coverage category. The Home Rule video explained Proposition 470, a measure that was on the Chandler ballot in August 2022.
Carpenter won a Silver Telly in the Motivational category for her work on the “Chandler Changemakers” video. The video highlighted Mayor Kevin Hartke's initiative to showcase people who are making a difference in Chandler and around the world.
The “Ag Town to Tech City” video, created by Melina Zuniga, digital media senior producer, won a Bronze Telly in the History category and an Award of Honor in the NATOA Historical category. The video looked back at Chandler through the decades from its roots in agriculture to today’s high-tech industries.
The “Chandler Police Department Recruitment” video won an Award of Excellence in the Event/Program Promotion category. The video was created for an advertising campaign to assist Chandler police promote job opportunities both in and outside of Arizona. It was created by the entire Digital Media Division, Randolph, Carpenter, Zuniga, Stacy Sacco, digital media manager, and Edmundo Mendez, digital media producer.
