Curtis Beard and Jamaine Berry will be sworn in Dec. 3 to take their seats on the Buckeye City Council following their wins in the Nov. 5 election.
District 2 will be represented by Berry, a Buckeye native and local business owner. His goals are to foster responsible growth and advance downtown revitalization, according to a city release.
“I’m excited to help bring new life to Buckeye, honoring its history while creating new opportunities for growth,” Berry said.
“As our city grows, I want to help build a vibrant, strong community that stays true to our city’s heritage. We’re in this together, and I’m grateful for the chance to bridge the past with the future.”
District 3 will be represented by Beard, also a Buckeye native who attended local schools and operates businesses in the city with his wife and three children.
“Beard is dedicated to strengthening the connection between residents and local government,” the release stated.
He added: "As your councilmember, I aim to bridge the gap between our citizens and local government, encouraging open dialogue with council members, the mayor and city staff."
The newly elected officials, who will be sworn in at the Dec. 3 council meeting, succeed councilmembers Michelle Hess, who served since 2012, and Jeanine Guy, who served since 2016.
