Buckeye has received a $20,000 grant from Capital Power’s Community Sustainability Fund.
The city announced that the grant will support Buckeye's ongoing project to retrofit existing fluorescent fixtures to LED fixtures, enhancing energy efficiency and reducing environmental impact in city facilities.
Capital Power, a power producer in the U.S and Canada operating the Arlington natural gas facility in Maricopa County, received numerous project funding requests, totaling nearly $1.5 million, from communities across North America. Buckeye's initiative was selected as one of the inspiring projects to receive funding dedicated to enhancing community sustainability.
This grant will enable Buckeye to upgrade and modernize lighting systems, making significant progress in the city's commitment to sustainability.
