The Buckeye Fire-Medical Rescue Department has been granted more than $51,000 from the state to buy extrication equipment.
The money comes from the Arizona Governor’s Office of Highway Safety and will be used to purchase battery-powered extrication equipment used during critical-incident rescues, according to a release.
“Swift and efficient patient extrication from vehicles following major accidents is paramount to mitigating injury severity and enhancing overall survivability,” BFMRD officials stated in the release.
