Brothers’ fight over Xbox leads to shooting in Mesa, Tempe SWAT team response

Posted

A suspect has been accused of shooting his brother in the foot Friday night during a fight over an Xbox and then barricading himself in a storage shed, Mesa police said.

Lucas Edens, 30, faces several charges, police said. His brother was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police said the brothers had a confrontation about an Xbox when the suspect got a gun and, during the fight, shot his brother in the foot, police said.

Police said Edens then barricaded himself in a storage shed outside the home in the 200 block of West Brown Road, requiring Tempe SWAT members to respond and apprehend the suspect without injury.

Edens was taken to a hospital for precause given the excessive heat, police said.
