DALLAS (AP) — St. Louis Blues forward Alexy Toropchenko left the season-opening game at Dallas with an apparent shoulder injury early in the second period Friday night after being hit by two Stars players behind his own net.
Toropchenko initially took a hard check from defenseman Lian Bischel, and while the forward was going toward the boards took another shot from the side from Tyler Seguin. Torophchenko immediately grabbed at his upper right arm as he was falling to the ice.
After being initially being tended to on the ice, Toropchenko was hunched over in obvious pain while bracing his arm when going down the tunnel toward the locker room with about 16 1/2 minutes left in the second period.
