Big 12 coaches tab Oklahoma State women as league favorite with top transfers Crooks and McGill
IRVING, Texas (AP) — Oklahoma State has been picked by league coaches as the favorite to win the Big 12 this season after the Cowgirls added top transfers Audi Crooks and Liv McGill this offseason.
The preseason poll released Thursday had Oklahoma State with a slight edge over two-time defending league champion TCU. The Cowgirls got seven of 16 first-place votes and 215 points in the voting by the league's 16 head coaches, just ahead of TCU's six first-place votes and 212 points.
Baylor (two first-place votes), West Virginia (one first-place vote) and Kansas rounded out the top five.

Crooks was named the preseason Big 12 player of the year after averaging 25.5 points and 7.8 rebounds a game for Iowa State last season, when the 6-foot-3 center was a second-team Associated Press All-American.
McGill, an All-Southeastern Conference player last season for Florida, was named the preseason Big 12 newcomer of the year. The 5-9 guard averaged 22.5 points, 6.1 rebounds, 6.3 assists and 2.6 steals a game.
