Benevilla, the West Valley’s premier human services nonprofi t, announced their second annual “Public Art Bus Tour” in partnership with the Surprise Arts and Cultural Advisory Commission on Wednesday, March 22.

Spend a morning discovering various art exhibits and visual experiences in the city of Surprise! The Surprise Arts and Cultural Advisory Commission and Benevilla are joining together in this free bus tour beginning at Benevilla’s Surprise location, at 16752 N. Greasewood St.

Kevin Caron bolts his "Top Knot" art piece to the ground Wednesday, Oct. 5, 2016 at City Hall in Surprise. This is the first time in a number of years that the city has made a purchase of public art, after the City Council voted to provide the arts commission with a funding source. Tour participants will visit art locations such as WHAM Art Gallery, Arts HQ and the City Hall Galleries. They will also view public art pieces, including the Joe Tyler Learning Tree and much more.

The tour will begin at 9 a.m. at the Benevilla campus and will end at the same location at noon. Space is limited, so make your reservation by Wednesday, March 15. Reservations can be made by calling Benevilla at 623-584-4999.

At the conclusion of the bus tour, there will be an option to enjoy lunch at Birt’s Bistro on Benevilla’s campus. The lunch package is $15 per person, which includes a meal, soft drink, tip and tax.

Let Benevilla know if you would like the optional lunch when you reserve your spot for the bus tour.

Benevilla’s “Creative Aging” program provides opportunities for local artists and community members to collaborate and grow. This event is just one of the many exciting offerings held at Benevilla and Birt’s Bistro every month. “The Creative Life” is a free event open to all ages.

Started by the community and for the community in 1981, Benevilla is a not-forprofi t human services agency dedicated to enhancing the lives of West Valley residents by providing care services for older adults, intellectually disabled adults, children, and families.
