Phoenix Council moves to name new downtown transit hub after Rep. Greg Stanton

Calls to name it instead for Ed Pastor came from late congressman’s family, others

Phoenix City Council advanced an effort on Wednesday to name a new downtown light rail and bus station after U.S. Rep. and former Phoenix Mayor Greg Stanton.

The 7-2 vote came over objections that the center be named instead after late U.S. Rep. Ed Pastor, led by his daughter Laura Pastor, who sits on the council.
