Postal Service, police investigate mail thefts in Scottsdale

Posted

The U.S. Postal Service and Scottsdale police are investigating the theft of mail at various locations in the city.

The Scottsdale Police Department stated in a release that mail has been stolen from U.S. Postal Service drive-thru boxes as well as residential mailboxes.

The U.S. Postal Inspection Service and the Scottsdale Police Department’s Financial Crimes Unit are conducting the investigation.

Officials said to consider dropping mail inside a postal facility during normal business hours instead of the drive-thru boxes, a neighborhood cluster mailbox or the mailbox in front of a home.

Mail theft can be reported by calling the USPIS at 1-877-876-2455 or online at www.uspis.gov/report
